Fun new features on The Literary Lifestyle

Hi Reader,

I've been brainstorming ways to make my blog posts more fun and interactive for YOU, the reader. Last week, I developed a few ideas that I implemented across approximately 50 blog posts and am excited to share with you!

Vote For Your Favorite Book

These polls let you vote for your favorite book, particularly on posts about one specific author. It's fun to support your favorite, and it's helpful to learn what other blog readers besides me think!

Recommend Books to Blog Readers

These interactive book checklists allow you to confirm which of my book picks you also recommend. The purpose is primarily to help each other select the most highly recommended books from our community, which is mainly comprised of literature-loving women.

Rate Books

I've been adding star ratings to my book reviews and want you to have the opportunity to rate these books, too! Again, it's both fun and helpful to other readers.

Randomly Generate an Answer

I added random generators to some posts, such as quote compilations, for both entertainment and ease of reading. If you don't have time to read them all, click the button and let it pick one for you!

Take a Quiz

I only have one so far as these take a lot longer and are more complicated to create, but these are both for fun and to help you select a book more easily.

I hope these new features enhance your reading experience on The Literary Lifestyle. I hope my site is one you bookmark and return to often!

Remember, it's a good day to read a book.

P.S. - The Audible spring deal ends 4/30. It's .99 cents/month for your first 3 months (cancel anytime). While I primarily listen via the library or my independent bookstore app, I always grab this deal when they have it because I can access Audible-exclusive audiobooks not available anywhere else. It's a no-brainer at this price! Grab the deal before it ends.

Hi Reader, Happy Independent Bookstore Day! I'll be celebrating at my new local shop and getting coffee with a local Bookstagrammer. Independent bookstores are vital to your local economy. But your indie bookstores often struggle to compete with big-box stores, particularly online. (For example, Amazon can take losses on books because they make up the profits elsewhere. Your local indie cannot.) To celebrate this holiday, learn more about why independent bookstores matter and how you can...

Hi Reader, I hope you had a relaxing spring break/holiday weekend, if you were celebrating. We just went to brunch and watched baseball outdoors. The weather has been great in Philly, and spring is in full bloom. Let's catch up with 3 new and exciting bookish things! 1 - A 5-Star Debut, Out Today! Today is a big "pub day" in the book industry, with many buzzy books. The Bright Years is my personal favorite debut novel of the year so far. An epic family saga about the effects of addiction, it...
